Literature Text

It’s a new and uninvited flutter  G C Am G
I’m distracted over you  Am D
It’s a new and useless feeling  G Em
Shockingly revealing  C G
Let it through  Am
Let it through  C

You and her seem cute and so committed
It’s been a year and seven months
And I’d much prefer to see you
Smiling with her near you
Than to touch
And lose your trust

Chorus:
I’d do anything to make you laugh  G C
I don’t intend to tell you so  G C Am
Cos you… you make the world go round  G C
But that’s alright, that’s alright, you never need know  Am C D

Don’t know what to say when you’re around me
I suppose I’ve felt this way before
But it’s your smile and the way you
Move that makes me way too
Uncoordinated
Melting on the floor

I suppose it’s best if I don’t let slip
The way I feel – it’s sure to pass
Hope it’s fast, before I make it
Far too complicated for all of us
Don’t want a fuss

Chorus

So it goes, we’ll part without a touch  G Am F
And you’ll never know how much G C
I never told you… Am
This song is actually quite old, but I didn't really feel comfortable posting it because it struck a little too close to home. Most of my songs start from an image in my life and then develop in completely different (and prettier) directions than the real scenario. This one was a little more accurate than usual - one or two people will know what I'm talking about, but most of them aren't on Deviantart.

Looking back on the song now, it sounds a little trite, but there are some good moments and... well, it sounds okay on guitar... mostly I'm just submitting it for the record, it's not going on my LJ. Jeez, I ought to stick to necromancy and cutesy poisoners, they turn out much better.
